Luke Hillier and the Ignite Award Winners

Award

The Ignite award recognizes and rewards outstanding achievements tied to each of our core focus areas of entrepreneurs, youth and active duty military and veterans. This past year, Luke gave out two awards when he launched Hillier Ignite as part of the Warrior Expo. Watch his introduction here.

Each year, an Ignite Award will be given in the following categories:

  • Entrepreneurship: The Ignite Lifesaving Innovation Award is presented annually to the company responsible for creating and introducing a product to the market over the preceding 12 months that Hillier Ignite has judged to be the year’s most significant lifesaving innovation. The award is presented at the ADS Warrior Expo East, in Virginia Beach, VA in July, an event that brings end users, program managers, and procurement specialists together with industry-leading manufacturers in an environment designed specifically for government and defense organizations. The inaugural Hillier Ignite Lifesaving Innovation award was presented to InfraScan, for its Infrascanner 2000, a portable screening device that uses Near-Infrared (NIR) technology to screen patients for intracranial bleeding. For more information please visit their website.
  • Youth: The Ignite Youth Award recognizes a person or organization that has taught and inspired disadvantaged youth in the USA or abroad. The awards are given annually. The Ignite Youth Award includes an unrestricted grant of $25,000. The inaugural Hillier Ignite Youth Award was presented to ORPHANetwork, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating better standards for orphan care in developing countries, particularly in the country of Nicaragua, the poorest Spanish speaking country in the world.
