Operation Hawkeye was also featured at the Warrior Expo along with Hillier Ignite’s launch a few weeks ago. This fantastic organization was created to honor the Special Operations forces (SOF) heroes killed in the largest single-day loss in the history of Naval Special Warfare in Operation Enduring Freedom on 8.6.11. Operation Hawkeye was founded by Will Thomas, a Virginian schoolboy, using his skills shooting basketball to raise support for the loved ones left behind. In less than two years, Will’s mission has grown into a national charitable endeavor uniting the public with the Special operations and they families.
Operation Hawkeye has created programs like the Team 31 Countdown, where thousands of dollars worth of tactical gear and basketball memorabilia will be given away once the donation goal of $310,000 is met, the E17 Free Throw Challenge, in which the public can shoot basketball free throws between July 4th and Labor Day to raise money for SOF families, and Rise and Fire, in which participants have 33 hours to make 3,300 3-point baskets to raise $30,000 for three fallen heroes.
